Hotta Notta Grand Prix

Overview

The Hotta Notta Grand Prix is a team-based endurance event designed for drivers who want to go faster and take the next step beyond entry-level motorsport.

This event combines speed, strategy, and consistency in a structured, safety-focused environment. It is aimed at experienced drivers and teams ready for a more demanding and competitive format.

Entry is via Expression of Interest (EOI).

Pricing

  • $990 per team.

Who It’s For

The Hotta Notta Grand Prix is ideal for:

  • Drivers with prior motorsport experience
  • Teams looking for a competitive endurance format
  • Groups wanting a “race with your mates” challenge at a higher level

This is not a beginner event—participants should be confident, capable, and experienced on track.

Team Format

  • 3 drivers per team (minimum)
  • Each team must nominate a Team Leader
  • Teamwork, planning, and consistency are key to success

Driver Eligibility

  • Minimum age: 18 years
    • Younger drivers with previous motorsport experience may be considered upon application
  • All drivers must have completed:
    • Minimum 2 Notta events, or
    • Equivalent experience (e.g. sprint events)
  • Drivers without this experience may still apply and will be assessed individually

Event Format

The Hotta Notta Grand Prix is an endurance-style event focused on:

  • Consistent lap times
  • Efficient pit stops
  • Smart strategy

Key Rules

  • Maximum driver stint: 1 hour
  • Minimum pit stop time: 5 minutes
  • Minimum lap time: 69 seconds
  • Maximum lap time: 76 seconds

The event is not a sprint race. A minimum lap time of 69 seconds will be enforced to maintain safety, consistency, and fairness.

Any team recording a lap faster than 69.000 seconds (“breaking out”) will receive a time penalty, which may be up to 10 minutes per offence at the discretion of Race Control and the officials.

Repeated breaches will result in escalating penalties.

In short: outright speed alone won’t win this event—discipline and consistency will.

Vehicle Eligibility

Eligible vehicles must:

  • Be mass-produced, four-wheeled vehicles
  • Have been road registrable in Australia
  • Comply with the RACERS Operations Manual
  • Open-top vehicles must have approved rollover protection

Event Philosophy

The Hotta Notta Grand Prix is designed for drivers who want:

  • A faster, more competitive environment
  • A structured endurance racing experience
  • A challenge that rewards both performance and discipline

While more performance-focused than traditional Notta events, the core principles remain:

  • Safety first
  • Respect between drivers
  • Clean, controlled competition
